We checked 475 AI directories, launch platforms, SaaS directories and review sites by hand and pulled their metrics from Ahrefs on 8 Oct 2026. This is what the whole set looks like: how they charge, what links they pass, how fast they list a tool, and where the traffic actually is.

What the list is made of
AI tools directories are the biggest group, but launch platforms, review sites and SaaS directories make up most of the rest. Each type suits a different stage of a launch.
How they charge
Most directories have a free route, and the paid options are usually an upgrade for speed or a featured spot. Only 96 directories are paid-only. Where a price is published, the median cheapest paid plan is $20.
What links they pass
A listing only passes SEO value if the "visit" link is followed. 121 directories pass a confirmed followed link, and many more pass one only with a badge or a paid plan. Redirect-only directories give no direct link.
How fast a listing goes live
A large share of directories never state a review time. Where they do, most list a tool within a week, and a small set are instant or within 48 hours.
Traffic, authority and AI citations
Authority and audience do not always travel together: many high-DR directories send almost no visitors. AI citations are a newer signal, and 130 directories are quoted at least 100 times in AI answers.

Each directory gets a 0 to 100 score from audience, authority, AI visibility, link value, relevance and cost. The tiers split the list by that score.
The most covered categories
Categories are counted from the category pages each directory runs. Marketing, productivity and developer tools are the most covered; niche categories have fewer directories but a closer fit.
Launch platforms in 2026
76 directories run a daily, weekly or recurring launch day, and 40 of those use voting. A launch day puts a product in front of a burst of early adopters; a permanent listing keeps it findable after.
