Our take

Altern is an AI tools directory for consumers and professionals. Submitting is free, with no paywall in front of a basic listing, and it goes through a standard form on the site. Listings carry confirmed SEO backlinks, but search traffic is negligible at around 65 visits a month, about half of it from the US.

Discover AI tools, curated lists, and categories – all in one place.
